Thursday -
AM - Guess what, no ski hosting today due to 'Chalet day off', so I went off on my own and had a thoroughly boring morning to be fair. I am used to mingling with people and having a laugh, so just pootled about on some green, blue runs & one red then stopped for a Tea, sat in the deck chair in the sun. Qu- Why do Germans have to invade (use the word carefully) your space, there is plenty of room on the mountain for everyone (probably the whole population of France) and they sit right on top of me, what's all that about? I think it may have something to do with towels and deck chairs, they may have thought I had nicked their sun lounger!!!!
Get this - I pulled my lower back pulling on my boots this am, so that may have had an impact on my enjoyment of the skiing this am. Took some nurofen but did little to pevent the aching muscles.
PM - Met DW for lunch, he was quite chipper as had a nice ski school morning. He quickly brought me out of my sombre mood and of we went for some nice runs.
Eve - No dinner provided this evening, so DW took me out to a rather nice restaurant called ' Le Rouge et Le Noir', lovely little place. Although rather expensive the choice of food was amazing, we decided to share the starter and luckily we did due to massive amount of scallops. By the time the main courses arrived, we were rather full and I only ate half my langoustines, DW managed to eat most of his mixed grill, however no dessert for us thanks very much. What a waste of beautiful food. Having discussed this awful atrocity with my fellow ski hosters, they all agreed that the French do not understand the concept of 'small portions'. If I was the Chef I would be so demoralised to see my food coming back uneaten.
Stuffed and tired, bed awaits xx
