Day 200 - 19th July

Thursday -

Working from home - nice

Managed a run, which broke up the monotony of trawling through the paperwork.
4pm off to DW's to start the process of cleaning his house.

Now his house is a very old farmhouse cottage, so you can imagine the windows being old ones, cold, damp, wet in the winter. lots of mildew and spores to clean off the walls let alone the windows!! Oh dear could be a long & drawn out process.

Don the rubber gloves and we are off ;-)

To be fair I am in my element here, I love to clean

Freaky deek x

Day 199 - 18th July

Wednesday -

Still doing the reports.....

Weather is going to change on Friday...fingers crossed we have some nice weather to enjoy the garden. My lawn is looking out of control it needs a good cut.

Looking forward to the end of the week, we have Zach this weekend so limited to tidying the house and putting stuff away, but that is not a bad thing. we probably need a rest from house moving stuff

Just over 2 weeks to go until my holiday

Day 198 - 17th July

Tuesday -

Still waiting for my Zaggora hotpants to arrive (let me put you right, they are not actually hotpants as we all know - Kylie's Gold ones spring to mind). They ate literally biometric cycling shorts that are built to heat up more around the parts a women finds hard to shift cellulite/fat. To be fair I am not riddled with the orange peel effect  or am fat for that matter but it doesn't do a girl any harm to shape up the butt and thigh area to look even better (I am 38 not 28 anymore as any help to continue to look half decent is welcome in my book). Denise Richards, Tess Daly & Gwyneth Paltrow all swear by them and also non celebs.

Eve - removed more items from DW's house.

TTFN x

Day 197 - 16th July

Monday -

Still have these blasted reports to finish before Friday, very difficult when you have an open door policy ate work. Will work from home on Thursday, easier to work with no interruptions and it luckily coincides with the start of the Open Golf...oh no what will I do :-)

Eve - Zach's first stay in his new room, luckily he loves it, purely because it has all his toys and clothes, so he feels at home. He went down straight away and no peep out of him. Wow! Can't imagine this will last.

Good stuff x

Day 196 - 15th July

Sunday -

Decided to have a lay in due to hectic day yesterday - on the road again today to finish off the large items move.

It is amazing how much stuff you can build up over the years, although to be fair to DW, he has taken full responsibility to chuck items and take stuff to the tip/charity shop. Well done!!

Storage items transferred to removal man, drop back van and home for Tesco food shop!! Wow what a weekend. Need another one just to catch up and move things into storage at home. I wonder how long it will take to sort and put every thing in its place??

We still have the odd small item to collect and a couple of cupboards to empty but we have until the end of the month to resolve. Thank goodness for that.

I see a few things going onto Ebay for bring in some dollar $$$

....pass out time x

Day 195 - 14th July

Saturday -

Up early as the lark and off to tip to drop a few pieces off, then onwards to DW's Dad's house to pick up some storage items.  Storage guy can not meet us until much later, so plan changed to leave items and pick up later on our travels. Popped back home to take down my bed, I have succumbed to the KINGSIZE, so bye bye nice bed (which matches my whole room) and hello wrought iron bed :-(.

Felt like a gypo, trundling along in the van, with DW driving and little woman sitting in passenger seat. All we needed were 8 grubby looking kids and a lurcher at it was a full house!

Backwards and forwards today, but managed to move lots of stuff - more to do tomorrow.

Eve - managed to go out for dinner at 'Ascoughs' my favourite eatery in Harborough. Prior to this popped into our local and had a couple of drinks, including a cocktail!!

Mighty fine cocktails in the Oathill.

Fruitful day but tiring x

Day 194 - 13th July

Friday -

D - Day is upon us!!
Picked up van from work (with sack barrow no less). Tomorrow is the big move, DW and all his worldly possessions are coming my way.

A busy few days ahead, watch this space

Day 193 - 12th July

Thursday -

Last night on my own this evening, made the most of it by watching a DVD and chilling.

Rock on peeps x

Day 192 - 11th July

Wednesday -

Meetings upon meetings today, back to back so still not much head way made on my end of year reports.

Now Wimbledon has finished, I am trying to keep my eye on the Tour De France - come on Bradley Wiggins.

Eve - chill out time for me again as my life is about to change (for the better) - from Friday I will be co-habiting again. Time to share the space and find a place for DW's stuff to reside. I have relented with the bed, due to rubbish night sleep on Sunday, the King Size bed is coming to town.

Eve - Finished watching Thor - not a movie I would rave to my friends about but an easy watch.

Going now x

Day 191 - 10th July

Tuesday -

OMG! Up and out running at 5.30am, unsure where my energy came from but by golly I was off and the only thing that made me return home was that time was getting on and I had to go to work. Could have run and run. Managed 7.5 miles today!! What's all that about? Haven't run that far since training for my Loch Ness Marathon in 2010. Looks like the 1/2 marathon is still on the cards. Just need to train consistently now.

PM - Concerned that I may have a lull and fall a sleep at my desk, but no droopy eyes here.

Day 190 - 9th July

Monday -

3 more weeks until a lovely week off, fingers crossed the weather will shift and we will bathe in glorious sunshine on our jollidays.

Back to reality and it is raining....

Usual day in the department, people in and out of my office, one in, one out. Thinking of having a system used in Doctors waiting rooms. Just announce people over the loud speaker and put a couple a seats outside. Have also thought about the cheese counter system, take a ticket and then wait until I shout your number. This is the downside of having an open door policy, sometimes you are just not meant to do your own work!!

Eve - pottered and tidied up, managed to catch up on some recorded TV, always good when the % is sitting at 26%.

Rock on Tuesday x

Day 189 - 8th July

Sunday -

What's all the fuss about 'Fifty Shades of Grey"? Everywhere I turn someone is talking about it, just bought it, downloaded it their kindle or has a copy on their desk. I know it is raunchy, apparently gets all sorts of people into a right old state. I have therefore downloaded it to my kindle, just to see what the big hullabaloo is all about, call it research into people's behaviours!! :-O

What does Sunday have in store for us today? Went for a run just after breakfast, 4 miles is not too bad. DW then went for a run, reluctantly. Managed to do a food shop, lost DW & Zach and had to call them on the mobile!! Oh my god what a palava :-) Then off to Halfords to have the roof bars and cycle carriers fitted for our imminent trip to Norfolk.

Took the opportunity to pop into Sports Soccer as DW wanted to check out the printing on his Rugby shirt. I took then liberty of purchasing Zach his first Chelsea football Kit & it's 2012/2012 season with gold seaming (Champions League win).

PM - Cleaning whilst watching the Murray match on the Ipad. Moved the Ipad from room to room with me, how fab is that? DW and Zach turned up and actually kept out of my way whilst I cleaned around them. Sounds as if we have been living together for ages doesn't it?

Eve - DW offered to take me to Pizza Express as a little treat. Clearly felt guilty for my hard efforts cleaning the house (Only kidding) ;-).

Another weekend over and still no sign of the thing we call 'Sun' :-(

Day 188 - 7th July

Saturday -

Cinema trip to see 'Journey 2 - The Mysterious Island' - Jules Verne novel.
Although this was a kids club film, I thoroughly enjoyed it, I love adventure films and this is just one great Jules Verne novel. Zach was very well behaved.

DW had a good idea, which was to take us to a woodland near us for a nice walk and also visit Lyvedon New Bield...see below. House that has been standing as a shell for hundreds of years as the proprietors ran out of money, but no one continued to completion. Such a shame as it looks a magnificent building and set in such wonderful grounds.

Unfortunately on our way Zach was sick, too much sweet stuff I think. Well we did eat chocolate and toffee popcorn!! Oh dear! Bless the little fella, stopped off a couple of times on the way. We let him sleep in the car, in the car park, whilst we sat on the grass verge and ate our lunch then lay down and chatted, praying that the rain wouldn't come. Thunder in back ground and ominous looking clouds, we continued to play Frisbee, which was great fun. Luckily both DW and I have hand and eye co-ordination.

Popped to the woodland but Zach had no energy in his little legs so just wanted to sleep in his car seat. Never mind, off we go back to the house where Zach lays on the sofa with his blanket whist watching Monsters Inc.

Eve - Curry and wine with film, great just a perfect evening. DW even showed me an episode of 'Californication'. Very up my street of comedy, loved it. When do I get to see the next episode please?

Cool beans Batman x
(That reminds me - The new Batman film is out on 20th July)

Day 187 - 6th July

Friday -

Early run in the rain, just lovely, nothing quite like running with the elements.
DW came over last night, after Badminton, so he worked from home today, at my house, soon to be our home :-)

Busy day at work, actually no that's a lie I went to Fosse park and then came back and had the Murray match on in the afternoon on my Ipad. Cheeky!

Eve - Over to DW's as this is a Zach weekend. Zach is being a little monkey, but a nice little monkey.
Straight off to sleep and no murmurs, how wonderful. Is is always like this?
DW & I finished watching the remainder of 'Alien Resurrection', god that film needs an overhaul.

x

Day 186 - 5th July

Thursday -

OK so who thought I wouldn't keep this blogging up? I know I don't always write daily, quite time consuming you know. What with my hectic social life and having to keep the house in good nick.

No running this am as legs quite tired and heavy, so rest day and back out tomorrow.

Eve - Day quite dry, so returned from work and popped into the garden to weed. Lost myself for 1.5hrs but by golly it looks so much better. Still requires lots of work but need time to remove some more dirt from the back bit and flatten it to make way for Zach's bits and pieces.

Caught up on some recorded TV and established that most of the recorded stuff is now only to be watched with DW. Made DW aware of this fact, so he will have to endure TV until it comes out of his ears. All good TV though, no shite on my watch if you please :-)

It's ffffffriday tomorrow

Over and out x

Day 185 - 4th July

Wednesday - Happy American Independence Day.

A run before breakfast 2 days in a row, come on G meister, speed work today, so less mileage but faster pace. Which is actually a better work out to get fitter.

Wednesday - finished glossing the door and windowsill this evening, in preparation for Master Zach's arrival in a couple of weeks. DW is going to order his black out blind and I have just taken receipt of his first Chelsea football quilt cover set, come on! Poor lad hasn't a chance of supporting another team, seeing as I am ramming the Blues down his throat.

Now over the hump of the week and it's all down hill to the weekend, wow, time is flying.

G x

Day 184 - 3rd July

Tuesday -

This running in the morning malarkey is great. At this juncture I would like to say a big thank you to whoever invented the 'sleep cycle' app. It is a wondrous thing, works very well. Wakes me up when I am in my light phase of sleep so I feel refreshed and energised, ready for my run even though it is before 6.00am!!

6.5miles before breakfast, get in Mrs....

Eve - Spiderman @ the Movies
I really enjoyed this film, although the same outcome as any Marvel comic book hero. The digitisation of the film along with the 2 main characters were fab. Well done.
I denied myself going to the cinema after some rather unpleasant experiences with noisy people, sweet wrappers and Slurpee's of soft drinks. These annoyances stopped my enjoyment of the big screen experience. Thank you to DW who has enlightened me once again to the world of cinema. I am less concerned with these small issues and can block out the insane people who waste their money talking and eating their own weight in sweets/chocolate during the performance. The saving grace is that as least I will be able to 1) talk about the film I have just seen and 2) get out of my seat afterwards without hurting myself.

Great day people and great day :-) x

Day 183 - 2nd July

Monday - New day, new week and new dawn!

OK so my approach to work is going to be different this week and to be honest I feel so different to last week. Weird week last week, very odd indeed.

Eve - Mum rang to see how I was feeling after our chat yesterday, bless! All good and mum said that although I was 38 you don't stop worrying when you are a Mum!!! Could have cried :-)

OK so move onto next day x

Day 182 - 1st July

Sunday - July!!!!!!

Spent more £ today, floor boards for the loft, so we can put the Xmas decorations and storage boxes
of DW up there. Although we need to be careful as these new builds are not designed to hold heavy weights in the loft. I wasn't even allowed to have floor tiles in the bathroom due to the weigh of them? Shoddy, cheap building companies.

PM - Cycles to Pitsford again (without Zach on the back of DW's bike)
26 miles...nice, and manged the big hill into Brixworth this time, yeah.

Weekend done x

Day 181 - 30th June

Saturday - Last day of June - crikey!

...and still we do not see our British summer...where are you?

AM -DW painted the feature wall whilst I glossed, mmmm the smell is lovely. Once that was done we decided to go (I decided to take DW) to 'Go Outdoors'. Wow! what a great place, massive, full to the brim with all sorts of adventure/outdoor gear. Kids in a  candy shop springs to mind, we even had to get a trolley..sleeping bag, camping chair, trail/walking shoes, hiking shorts, cycle shorts, running top, fleece for Zach and over an hour later we leave....to be fair I required the shoes, hiking shorts and DW did need some items for our trip at the end of the month. The little Bergaus fleece is just cute.

Managed to aquire a discount card, so I alone saved £39 on my purchases...bargain. I think you will agree.

Eve -

Andy Murray was playing was watched that, what a great match, he didn't play his best which kept the rest of us on our toes. Due to lateness of game finishing (11.00pm). I know it's only 11pm but I am not a late person, love my sleep even at the weekend, so we watched the remainder of game in bed on the Ipad. God we know how to party hard these days :-).

Spent oodles of cash but had planned to anyway, all things required.

Rock on Sunday x

Day 180 - 29th June

Friday - Holiday Day

This weekend was planned for sunny Newcastle, plans change so a great time to decorate Zach's bedroom or at least make a start. Spent the day painting and listening to the radio - Tennis. Loved it.
I am quite in my element working on a project, I find this very relaxing and rewarding. Maybe I should become a decorator? :-)

Eve - DW came over and we decided to take a walk into town for a nice drink. Popped into one pub and sat in the beer garden as it was quite warm then popped to another one and strategically sat on the leather sofa's chatting away. Pub was busy and great entertainment had just by people watching. Did not leave the pub until late, without food! Lukcily a nice pizza retrieved from the freezer sufficed whilst watching 'Awake' (yes another recorded series from Sky!)

Rather pleasant day and the black cloud has lifted, finally...what was that all about? Don't darken my door again is all I can say.

It's now officially the weekend, yeah

G x

Day 179 - 28th June

Thursday -Freak Ice Storm Day

Last day of the week for me and quite frankly thank goodness.

What a day - freakish storm hit Hinckley, dark black morose clouds loomed over work for hours, never seen anything quite so Harry Potterish. Typical me decided to go out to grab some Sushi & got caught in the storm, initially hail stones the size of Golf balls started raining down, and I could not see out of my window. Managed to get back to work however flooding all over the shop, only 15 mins of rain/hail!!

Just as I stepped out of car these massive and I mean massive, double the size of Golf balls came down, I ran for cover and literally had to shield my head with my hands in case one hit me on the head. Everyone was looking out the windows as you could see the hail stones denting peoples cars and there was nothing we could do about it but stand and watch with open mouths.

I have about 20 - 25 dents on my lovely Audi, as you can see. People had their windscreens smashed, generally a mess. Looks like it going to be a costly tidy up if the insurance companies don't pay out.

What a strange day x

Day 178 - 27th June

Wednesday -

Mood still hasn't lifted quite yet, still working on it.

Did what I needed to do at work & left at a reasonable time so that I could get a run in.

To be honest not much to say today, just chilled in the evening and caught up on good old recorded TV & Pottered around cleaning here and there.

:-)

Day 177 - 26th June

Tuesday -

Am - Went for a run at 5.45am, it is just lovely going out before most people are up and the streets are quiet. Also sets you up for the rest of the day, although can make yoju very sleepy on way to work if driving. There has been many a time where I have wanted to just stop off at a layby and go to sleep!!

Had a rather long candid chat with RH (da Boss) today, told him like it is, that a few of us are fed up and cheesed off with the negative emails we receive, no praise, always our fault. Just gets boring. to be fair he took it all on board and listened, whether anything will change or for how long only time will tell. Just think- it pays the bills for me to do nice things with DW & Zach. Like very nice holidays and out and about. Shouldn't grumble really but when the negativity is ongoing it is hard to bat it off.

DW on a course so just going to chill and catch up on some recorded TV series. Sky is a wonderful thing, Sky Atlantic has the best series going on, also Sky 1.

Chill out man x
