Saturday -
Busy day, popped into town to buy a few things for my trip in the morning, cleaned the house, Victoria popped in to see what to do with Slippers whilst I am away. Wendy popped in to offer services if required to feed Slippers moving forward. Travelled over to see David and Zack, went to NEXT and bought David new jeans and Zack 2 new jumpers, it was great going shopping with them :-)
David made his famous pizza, lovely, whilst I played with Zack.
The Snow Issue -
Started snowing at 5ish, not too bad however by the time I left Davids it was quite deep! Oh!
Car not a problem and driving conditions were ok in my Audi, fine along the A14 and up the slip road towards Harborough and then BOLLOCKS...car just would not go up the hill, slipping and sliding, wheel spinning. Now I am used to driving in snowy conditions and I have never had an issue with moving in the snow in previous cars. Audi A4 is apparently known for driving poorly in snow conditions due to the wheel size, poor traction, doesn't do well up hills (checked on website reviews once I finally made it home).
I would like to say a big thanks to the man and lady who stopped and helped me, they had a 4x4 and towed me all the way home!! I can't thank them enough they were my life savers. V&A & Mike and Jo popped their heads out to check that I was ok.
My car id defunct, warning lights all over the place, brake system failure of mass proportions says take the car into the garage. OK so this is my mode of transport to get to the airport in the morning. David has been trying taxi companies but none are taking new bookings. I also called 3 myself and services are suspended due to conditions!!! Unsure how I will get to the airport now :-(
Set my alarm for 4.00am to check whether conditions, they hadn't changed, my car is still defunct, so looks like I won't be going skiing then...very sad but I would rather be safe than stuck on the road with no way of getting home.
