Day 344 - 24th December

Christmas Eve

For some reason I have not been feeling the Christmas bug this year, which is most disappointing, unsure why, quite the opposite. I hope this spell dissipates by tomorrow morning. Bah Humbug! :-0

Picked up Zach as he is spending the evening and morning with DW and me this year.Popped into town to do some last minute present buying and nibbles, then off to the early crib service (Family Carol service) in the main church in town. Packed to the rafters and the kids enjoyed themselves when collecting the glow sticks. Quite a lovely service, Zach's Grandad and weez were there (Louise).

Home for a DVD, Arthur Christmas and some nibbles, what a great feel good film.  DW not feeling 100% so rather than eating the 3 course meal we had planned, just sat and ate on the sofa and Vegged out.

Father Christmasmade delivered the presents just before 11.30am, mince pie half eaten and carrot/water left.Looked rather good, lots of wondrous parcels ready to be opened. Silly me forgot to take a photo for the blog.

Day 343 - 23rd December

Sunday -

What do we have in store for today?

Thought I would pop to the shops to the last weekly food shop, whilst DW took Zach to Mini Mischiefs. WRONG! Town ram jammed with last minute shoppers buying food before the big day, so turned around and went back to the soft play centre. Stayed there for a couple of hours and tested the water again to see if the traffic had died down and yes it had.

Zach helped put the shopping away, bless and we had a nice lunch of soup from the lovely Waitrose.

Chelsea won 8-0 and then off to a annual pub quiz, last year my team won (obviously did not know the people then as DW and I didn't get together until 15th Jan 2012) (Nearly a year and can't quite believe it).
We won again to the dismay of the local people, who were very inebriated and some quite sulky poor losers.

Enjoyed the quiz, based solely on music

Day 342 - 22nd December

Saturday -

I should be elated that I am now off from work until 2nd Jan, but I am not, I love a good break but also get bored very easily. I think my exercise regime will pick up over the course of this break, I will have more time to follow a training plan through.

Unsure what the plans are for this weekend, I have my cleaning to do, clean up the leaves on the garden, probably all those jobs I do not get time for when I am working. Need to check the Euromillion numbers from last night, could be minted!!

Presents all wrapped, can't put these under the tree until Zach goes to bed on Christmas Eve, usually they are around the tree once wrapped but you can't spoil a innocent child's magical Christmas.

Another rainy day in MH, looks like this will settle in for the foreseeable over the festive period. I like the snow but not so as to dampen travel arrangements and cause chaos, which is invariably does in he UK.

Did my first lot of baking with Zach, biscuits and rather nice.

Eve - TV/Film?
Don't get me wrong I love chilling out by the box to watch quality TV but am starting to get a  little bored with staying in. I usually hibernate through from October - March but feel a sense of 'Get me Out of Here'.

Last of Strictly and what a finale, loved it and so sad that it is now over until October 2013 :-(. Didn't think Louise shoulf have won as he was not consistent enough, should have been either Kimberley or Denise, either of them thoroughly deserved it.

Day 341 - 21st December

Friday - last day of the week, last day before Christmas, last day of my working year!!!!

Well my plan for working from home did not work as I needed to be here due to working with JLP and sending some reports. I suppose this is good in a way otherwise I would only be at home, either eating, drinking or spending £ I simply don't have before Christmas.

Plan to get up to date on all my projects, send updates to key people and create plans for January 2013.
Also name and shame the people who have caused delays to actions being undertaken. Next year I need to have strict deadlines to ensure projects are delivered on time.

Eve - As this is a Zach weekend we will be staying at home, perhaps watch a film from Love Film, either Bel Ami or One Day (David Nicholls book - read it this year and loved it)

Day 340 - 20th December

Thursday -

Blimey I am up to date on blogging, crikey.

Found out that Body Combat is no longer on a Thursday eve!! OMG. I wonder if I can attend another session or get onto the Kettle bells.

I have been thinking about some resolutions for 2013, most of my previous resolutions continue year on year, Exercise, healthy eating etc. Now I have a little ready made family of my own the below would be good

* Cook and Bake more
* Enter races

Eve - spent time wrapping presents, which took awhile. Still require more wrapping paper to wrap Slippers' present up. Poured myself a nice Baileys on ice. Well deserved I think you will agree.

Day 339 - 19th December

Wednesday -

Well it is now becoming hard work to concentrate on fulfilling the PM role in the last few days before Xmas.
Some people are already on holiday, some people are working less hours, spirits are high and the Christmas songs are belting out across the office.

2 more days - now CBA and struggling to focus.

Eve - Zach duty whilst David popped out to gather supplies for New Years Eve.
Watched Spiderman 3 again, then Zach helped me post the neighbours cards, which he loved.
I bought him a new toy to play in the bath with, Thomas the Tank Engine sticky numbers and train track, so we can now help him recognise numbers, although he can already count to 10.

Watched the the penultimate episode of Homeland

Looking forward to the Christmas festivities and events are picking up

Christmas Eve - Nativity @ 3pm, followed by Christingle Service in Kettering @ 6pm.
Christmas Day - Zach then travelling down to parents for a family affair!!
Boxing Day - Parents then travel back to spend a time with DW's Dad and Louise (Pick up Zach)

Day 338 - 18th December

Tuesday -

Best dressed desk competition in the office today, everyone has made such an effort it has really lifted the spirits in the office.

They say we have a big mouse problem in the office but I don't know what they are talking about

Unfortunately it looks as if we will not have snow for Christmas this year, shame maybe Jan/Feb as long as the snow falls around the time we are going skiing this year, I do not want a repeat performance of this years calamity. Would be nice to take Zach sledging and play snowball fights and build his own Snowman in the garden.

Eve - The Hobbit
Now there has been mixed reviews on this film, some saying far too long, some saying egotistical Peter Jackson, however I must say, although I was cynical pre-film I was delighted with it. If you have not read this book, it is some 300 pages long (give or take) so you would think 3 films of equal 3hr length is stretching it a little but no. The Cinematography is amazing the digitisation is superb, just the scenes of New Zealand in it's raw form was just breath taking. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. 9/10.

I have just decided, in this split 2nd to, in addition to my weekly blogs next year, write film reviews either DVD's or films. I think I have a good interpretation of film and it would be good to track how many films I do in fact watch in a year!!
