A Year In The Life 2012

Day 351 - 31st December
Monday - New Years Eve (Bye bye 2012)
Invited round Peter and Louise's for a family get together lunch, not just the nuclear family but Peter's sisters and the people renting the holiday cottage.
Had fun talking to new people and kept a tight reign on Zach, although to be fair he was good for most of the time and played nicely with his cousin (Katherine). Enjoyed the afternoon, then drove home to get ready for guests (Rob but no Anne as she is poorly - rubbish), Mark before he descends on his sisters, dressed as Austin Powers.

Chat, laughter, music, frivolity, drinks and fun had by all. Mark finally decided to leave his sisters and come back to ours, so duly turned up at 12.30am. Stayed up until 4.00am!! Latest I have stayed up in years, come on G. Will pay for it tomorrow, when Zach wakes us up at 7.30am!!
Out with the old and in with the New (Resolutions, fitness, money).
Last time to log a daily occurrence for the blog. I can't quite believe I have managed a year. I know there have been days where I have written a few in a row, down to time really. I have enjoyed logging my time this year and will look back with fondest memories for the year I have had. If you check out my original profile my year has not been shit but a great journey of discovery and new experiences. Met DW 2 weeks into the year, which I think has made the year what is it, so thank you David and Zach for taking the risk of coming into my life...it will be even more fun in 2013.
I have decided to continue my blog, for I truly believe to log your life down provides a historical account for when I am older and want to look back. I won't be able to remember every little thing by memory, I would like something to review when I am in my 80's.
The log in 2013 will take a different journey, in terms of frequency, I think the daily blog is too much. There was insufficient material for some days, who wants to read about my work being boring or just sitting aroound watching the goggle box, so from Jan I will be logging a weekly blog.
Thanks for watching x
Day 350 - 30th December
Sunday -
Pottered today, a good clean of the house as guests coming tomorrow for a small soiree for NYE celebrations.
Went to the Golf range and hit a few balls, well I never how awful. Haven't hit a ball for ages and it showed. One thing I did notice is that I rush a shot, to try and get some welly on it, however when I slowed down and hit the ball with less pace I actually hit it sweet and it went the same distance. Note to self for future reference on the Golf course in 2013.
Nice to just potter and read the Sunday Times, which is becoming increasingly difficult to read as we don't just sit around on a Sunday. Note to self make time to sit and read the papers, chill with a nice cup of tea.
Nearly into another year...enjoy the remainder of 2012.
And yes still enjoying the time at home, could get used to this...I wonder if DW wants to support me being a lady of leisure? I don't think so.

Day 349 - 29th December
Saturday -
Am I getting bored with being off work? Not on your nelly, I say. Loving the freedom and the lay in's waking up in your own time with your Circadian Rhythm is so much more fun than being woken by an alarm, even if that alarm is the theme tune to Harry Potter (Also nice). I have established that my natural body clock is about 8am, unless I have stayed up late then about 9am. It is also interesting to note that my tired time has moved, usually in bed for 10pm, lights out straight away or before 10.30pm normally, I could actually stay awake for longer (9 hrs sleep is my usual). Yes I am lucky.
Walked to the Oat Hill and fancied a nice bar snack of dinner by the fireplace, which was going like the clappers this evening. Low and behold the chef is off until the 2nd Jan!! What's all that about? Had to continue our journey on to Wildwood and had a delicious meal of Calimari, followed by cod in a spicy tomato sauce. DW ate ribs, now these ribs were fab, lots of mean.
Trundled home, pooped x
Day 348 - 28th December
Friday -
Decided to blow the cobwebs away and so drive to the Malvern Hills for some walking.
I have not been to this area before, the town is very quaint and lovely, steep hills though, even getting to the start to walk the hills was a tough call.
I think the photo below, shows the strength of the wind on top of one of the hills, quite blustery I would say.

Walked until 3.30pm, so starting to get dark, still lots of people walking and we did have a torch is needs be. Arrived home at 6ish, too tired to walk to the Oat Hill. Tomorrow will be the day to Oat it.
Good day, just love the countryside and finding new places to explore

Day 347 - 27th December
Thursday (Still on holiday)
For the first time in 3 years I have between Christmas and New Year off, no longer in charge of sales so can kick back and relax.
Did a 6 mile run, which felt rather good considering I have done few runs in December.
Remainder of day just played with all the toys with Zach and had fun.
At least we all know a lay in can be had until the dreaded day comes when we have to return to work.

Day 346 - 26th December
Wednesday - Boxing Day
A quite one today, weather OK (after deluge of rain for the last week) so went for a walk in Danbury. Lovely area, nice houses, beautiful countryside & good company (Mum & David).
Saw some cyclists biking the hill, made me feel exhausted, big hill.
Ended up in the pub, as we always do after a nice country walk, just had a lemonade and lime, had to give
my poor liver and rest.
Left parents and picked up Zach on the way home as he was spending time with us until Thursday PM.
Popped into Grandad and Weez's to say Hi and ended up watching 'Room on The Broom' which was quite delightful, well me and Louise loved it. Headed home, Zach straight to bed and so watched some TV.
Tiring day
Day 345 - 25th December
Christmas Day 2012
Happy Christmas everyone!!! Mood has lifted somewhat and David and I are are awake before Zach. Made a cup of tea, DW shook Zach's stocking to see if he would wake up. 8.00am and Zach finally wakes up and has a cracking great smile on his face, lovely to see the innocence of a small child on Christmas morning. Opened the stocking/pillow case presents and then tundled down for more under the tree, how spoilt we all were. Must have been a good girl this year ;-).
Pirates, lightsabres & Spiderman outfits to whoopi cushions and Leap Pads....Magic.
Dropped Zach off at his mums and then proceeded down to Essex to be with the Raycraft clan. Arrived before my brother and family so spent half an hour with Mum and Dad. The rabble arrived and so the peace and quite went out of the window, all good though. Lunch, which was delicious, followed by opening of more presents (Nice) and then back at the table for desert, coffee and mints. Missed out on liqueurs this year as was drinking champagne (Get me). Continued with the family theme and played Cluedo, excellent game. Although they have changed the Titles of the characters. No Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum or Reverend Green, oh no, just plain, Mustard, Plum, Green, Scarlet, White. Moving with the times me thinks. Of course I won, did you even need to question that one? :-).
Rabble departed and then slouched on the sofa for a small while, whilst food digested or not as the case maybe. Felt very sick and no it was not too much champagne, I had eaten too much rich food and I shouldn't have eaten anymore at tea time, I didn't need it. Felt so ill that I had to go downstairs to the bathroom and make myself sick. Now that's better.
Great Christmas Day to remember, will add photo's
Bloated x
